Terms of service
These terms govern your use of the websites, mobile applications, and live session viewer (the “Services”) provided by VeraLink Systems LLC (“VeraLink”). By using the Services, you agree to these terms.
What the Services are, and are not
VeraLink provides real-time transcription, translation, and meaning support that anchors high-stakes terms to governed glossary definitions. The Services are comprehension support. They are not legal, financial, medical, or immigration advice, and no output of the Services creates a professional relationship of any kind.
- Automated transcription and translation can contain errors. Do not rely on the Services as the sole basis for signing documents or making legal, financial, or medical decisions. Verify important matters with a qualified professional.
- The Services do not replace a qualified or certified interpreter where one is required by law, court rule, or institutional policy.
- Glossary explanations are plain-language educational support, not definitions with legal effect.
Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials secure. Attendees may join live sessions through the browser viewer without an account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Services to violate any law or the rights of others;
- record or redistribute session content in violation of applicable law or the host institution’s rules;
- probe, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services;
- scrape, resell, or misrepresent the Services or their output.
Live sessions
Institutions and operators hosting sessions are responsible for providing any notices and obtaining any consents required in their jurisdiction for capturing and processing session audio.
Intellectual property
The Services, including our glossaries, software, and brand, are the property of VeraLink Systems LLC and its licensors, and portions are patent pending. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services as intended. Feedback you choose to give us may be used to improve the Services.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, VeraLink’s total liability arising out of the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim, and VeraLink will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time and may delete your account through our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms as the Services evolve. We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Franklin County, Ohio.
